Officials said the invasive non-native plants compete with native vegetation for water and nutrients and, in some cases, even kill trees."

Neighborhood Market Spotlight: Bainbridge Island

The island has been a seller’s market since October 2014, and monthly supply spent most of 2015 below two months. As in many other exurban locations, prices tend to be more volatile on Bainbridge Island.

Yet here again, the island benefits as a bedroom community to Seattle: the median price rose by double digits in each of the past two years, and in 2015 was 137.9% higher than the Kitsap County median.

"The North Kitsap County & Bainbridge Island real estate market continues with strong sales. Most areas have seen a surge of activity as we move out of winter towards our spring selling season. The Bainbridge Island market continues to outperform other areas of the county by leaps and bounds. If a house is listed on Thursday, and it is priced right, it is not uncommon to have multiple offers by sunset. Waterfront sales have increased on BI from 2014 to 2015 by 18.71%. While the Median home price has increased for 2013 t0 2014 to 34.04%.

Inventory throughout the county is extremely low. Buyers are frustrated when they ask me why there are no homes for sale. It really is a multi-level answer and I understand their frustration. With lower interest rates available many homeowners took advantage of these low rates. Especially, homeowners who purchased in the 2006-2008 years. Compounding our low resale market new home sales have been nonexistent these past 5 years. And of course employment has created a need for employees looking to relocate to our area.as new buyers. We have been very fortunate here in the Northwest as we experience this healthy recovery. But frustrating to many buyers.
Bottom line, if you are thinking of selling your home or you know of someone who is thinking of downsizing… The time is now…"
